Mini dental implants can last you for your entire life.
Like with your natural teeth, proper care and routine maintenance can keep your implants healthy. A healthy implant can last forever with proper oral hygiene.
False! Studies have shown that success rates between mini and conventional implants are equal, if not better with mini dental implants.
Mini Implants are usually between 2.0 and 3.0 mm in diameter. Due to this size, 99% of cases involving minis let us place them in the existing bone without the need for bone grafting. Since mini implants are smaller, we can place more of them and distribute the forces among more implants than you would otherwise be able to with conventional implants. For example, when we place an implant-supported bridge (roundhouse) we use anywhere from 6 to 12 implants depending on your bone and other factors. That allows us to distribute the forces of the bridge more naturally among a greater number of implants. This is comparable to the root structure of your natural teeth.
Yes, you can! However, just like your natural teeth, you should be cautious of foods that may damage them.
Minis are like your natural teeth. If you intend on chewing hard candy, nuts, ice, pork rinds, and other really hard foods, you can damage your natural teeth and/or your implants.
Yes.
Like your natural teeth, dental implants can build up with plaque, food debris, and tartar. We suggest a professional implant maintenance cleaning at our office every 3-6 months, or as recommended by our dentist. Additionally, practice good oral hygiene by brushing and water flossing daily.
Any age, as long as you have your permanent teeth.
From high school hockey accidents to 99-year-olds looking to eat a steak for their 100th — anyone with permanent teeth can qualify for dental implants. With proper care, mini implants can last for your life and will likely improve the quality of your life. No one is too young or old for a confident smile.
